Congratulations to Gail and Rusty Henson for becoming our newest certified pet therapy volunteers! Gail has been involved with Hosparus since 2004, volunteering with nursing home patients and 11th Hour visits. She missed the interaction with patients when visits were suspended due to COVID, so when she saw the opportunity to become certified through WAGS Pet Therapy of Kentucky, Inc., she began the rigorous 18-month-long process. “Volunteering with Hosparus Health has profoundly touched my life and shaped my thoughts on the sacredness of its mission,” Gail says. “I hope that Rusty will touch people -- whether staff or patients -- who might need something that a human can't provide and give some grace and pleasure to that person.” Thank you, Gail and Rusty, for your amazing dedication and service. We are so grateful to you both for offering much-needed comfort and compassion to those in our care who need it most.

Thanks to her hard work on making our Heart Connection program a huge success, Hosparus Health's Stephanie Alvey Banks was invited to help develop the Advanced Cardiac Care program in partnership with National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation and the American Heart Association. The program's goal is to improve quality and access to hospice and palliative care for heart patients across the country. Way to go, Stephanie!! We are so proud!
