Our amazing Chennai team recently used some of their Giving Back Days to volunteer with the NGO (non-governmental organisation) Yein Udaan in India. They taught Maths, English and basic computer skills to children from underprivileged backgrounds. We're so proud of our IRISians for making a positive IMPACT all around the world đđâ Our Social Purpose is to inspire and support the next generation of talented young people, especially those from under-privileged backgrounds, and those from under-represented groups, to reach their full potential through a career in technology. Our partnerships and our charitable and community initiatives will focus on inspiring under-represented groups to achieve a career in technology, improving the employability of young people, and supporting schools as they undertake their important mission of creating enthusiastic, skilled, work ready, super stars.

IRIS is proud to celebrate Disability Awareness Month! We embrace and support colleagues all year round, and we believe in an in inclusive workplace that values everyone's unique talents and differences. We asked some of our colleagues, "What does Disability Pride Month mean to you?" Here's what our CEO, Elona Mortimer-Zhika had to say: "Disability Pride Month is about raising awareness: heightening our own learning and understanding of other people's experiences of living with disabilities, hidden or visible. It's about creating an environment where people feel supported to share their journeys. It's about listening so we move beyond our own level of comfort. It's about giving ourselves permission to share our own paths so we can remove barriers, learn to walk in each other's shows and support one another". You can see more of our fantastic colleague stories on our Instagram Page â¤ď¸ #DisabilityPride2023 #DisabilityPrideMonth

In January, we held our first THRIVE Event of the year in our Heathrow Approach office. The event was all about unlocking our power and included workshops, in-person networking activities and a fantastic key-note speaker, Dawn Marriott, from Hg. Over 50 colleagues joined us in-person at our office and over 200 virtually from around the world! Dawn and Elona Mortimer-Zhika delivered brilliant talks and our High Potential Women in Leadership Group shared incredible ideas on how we can make gender equality a reality in the business on our journey to close the gender pay gap. When we work in a business that truly embraces inclusiveness, we all THRIVE.
Congratulations to our CEO, Elona Mortimer-Zhika, who has been named as one of the Top 100 most Influential People in Accounting in the annual list by Accounting Today. We are proud to have partnered with The Womenâs Work Lab (WWL), an incredible organisation that supports unemployed mums back into the workplace. WWL offers women the opportunity to ease back into work after time away with bespoke classroom training, a work placement and 121 support. Read more about The Womenâs Work Lab via the link below. Our amazing returner Jincy Rojy has been with us for the past 3 weeks, working with our support team. âI have enjoyed all the training and support provided during this amazing opportunity to work at IRIS. It has really helped with my confidence to learn new skills. I have been provided with excellent IT facilities at home and the training has been very informative and has given me an insight into SENTA. Over the next couple of weeks, Iâm hoping to use the information Iâve learned to work alongside a member of the IT team to assist in various support scenarios. The team has been very supportive and available anytime if I needed any help via Teams or Slack as required.â We cannot wait to see what Jincy achieves with us over the next few weeks.
At IRIS, we are passionate at providing great opportunities for everyone. We recognise that there are masses of incredibly talented, hard-working and motivated individuals that are overlooked in many cases due to career breaks on their CV. Maybe a prolonged illness left them unable to work, or they needed time away to focus on raising a family. Whatever the reason, we know it can be extremely daunting returning to work after a career break, and our IRIS Returnship Programme offers the support required to allow these individuals to ease back into work and reach their potential. Our Returnship placements are up to 6 months long and involve regular check-ins with a dedicated Returnship Coach, part time hours to fit around childcare or other commitments, access to our training courses and the opportunity to progress to a permanent or fixed term contract at the end of the work placement period. If you'd like to enquire about the programme, please send an email across to our Recruitment team at recruitment@iris.co.uk.
