InnovAge Senior Companion volunteer Karen Heath was honored today at the Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service by Denver Mayor Michael Hancock. Karen has volunteered for the past year and has logged more than 1,000 volunteer hours. All participants Karen serves are below the 200 percent of the federal poverty level and a least four of them are more than 90 years old. Karen currently visits with 11 people four times a week taking them to and from doctor appointments, and the grocery store.
As a member of the Denver Commission on Aging, InnovAge’s Tamara Vermeer played a role in this new report about aging in Colorado. Thanks Tamara for all your hard work at InnovAge and on the Commission, and bringing these important issues to light.

InnovAge’s President and CEO Maureen will be at the Denver Business Journal’s Bizwomen Mentoring Monday program on March 30. Participants get the opportunity to choose from 40 mentors who are the most influential women in the Denver community for one-on-one coaching sessions.
