Lee Health hospitals’ Stroke Care earns Quality Achievement Awards Lee Health’s hospitals earned the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association’s (ASA) Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes success in implementing evidence-based guidelines and delivering excellent care for stroke patients. Gulf Coast Medical Center is Lee County’s only certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and has been certified from 2015 – 2018. Cape Coral Hospital and Lee Memorial Hospital are Primary Stroke Centers from 2016 – 2018.
Golisano Children’s Hospital Receives Asthma-Friendly Hospital Award Lee Health's Children's Hospital is the fourth in the state to be recognized as an Asthma-Friendly Hospital by the Florida Asthma Coalition. Readmission rates dropped to nearly half — from 5.7% in 2014 to 2.8% in 2017. The decreases are a direct result of an asthma prevention program that helps patients and families better understand the disease, the triggers and how to manage medications.

Search for a physician, find a facility, see upcoming events or read the latest wellness information. Users also can securely access your personal records via MyChart. Lee Health Hospitals Earn STARS: This July, when the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) releases their latest star ratings, Lee Health hospitals will have more stars, including a 4-star rating for Lee Memorial Hospital/HealthPark Medical Center! Targeted plans—roadmaps for improvement system-wide — are developed by the Process Analytics team and specific workgroups. These plans help each hospital focus on the areas that affect the star ratings (including mortality, readmissions, safety, patient experience, efficient use of medical imaging, timeliness and effectiveness of care). The reduction of hospital-acquired conditions is one of the significant reasons for our success in achieving additional stars. In fiscal year 2017, based on National Health Safety Network/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention measurements, we had a total of 27 CAUTIs and 20 CLABSIs. So far this year we’ve had just four CAUTIs and three CLABSIs.
