LEE HEALTH HIRES NEW PHYSICIAN LEADERS Lee Health recently welcomed four new physicians to fill the roles of acute care medical officer (ACMO) at each of its hospitals. The ACMO works with a nurse vice president of patient care services (VPPCS) in a shared leadership model called a dyad. The dyad is focused on collaboration, standardization, quality, safety, reliability and patient experience. The hospital dyads are: Wendy Piascik, VPPCS and Harry Alberti, M.D., MBA, ACMO–Cape Coral Hospital; Holly Muller, VPPCS and Jonathan Velez, M.D., ACMO–Gulf Coast Medical Center; Cindy Brown, VPPCS and Eric Appelgren, M.D., MBA, ACMO–HealthPark Medical Center; and Jennifer Higgins, VPPCS and Scott Wolf, D.O., MPH, ACMO–Lee Memorial Hospital.
DE-STRESS FOR FREE AT LEE WELLNESS CENTERS The Lee Health Wellness Centers is inviting the community for a complimentary week to visit one of its campuses to de-stress and enjoy some time taking care of you. Here is an awesome testimony from one of our amazing RNs! Two years ago I put on this blue uniform for the first time and took this photo. Working on Cardiac Med has been one of the best challenges and learning experiences. Some days are hard and stressful and you just want to cry. But at the end of the night I know I have worked my butt off to advocate for my patients. I also have met amazing people that will be forever friends. Thank you for all the support and teaching!
