At Methodist, we're shining a spotlight on graduates of our Nurse Residency Program, the pivotal step between nursing school and real nursing practice. Today's graduate is Roshni John. Nurse residents have personal mentors who share their knowledge and expertise and offer encouragement. This was Roshni's favorite part of her residency. A former patient care technician and telemetry technician, she learned valuable skills that smoothed her transition from a student nurse to a confident, competent professional nurse. Methodist Midlothian has performed its first neuro-spine surgery. This achievement expands advanced surgical care for Ellis County and the surrounding area. The labor and delivery staff at Methodist Dallas returned home for the holidays. Earlier this month, community members, donors, and leaders gathered for a ribbon cutting, blessing, and tours of the newly redesigned space. Methodist Health System Foundation raised almost $11.5 million for the nine-month, $13 million project. The hospital expects to see more than 2,400 deliveries by year's end. There's new life in the place that welcomes new babies!

The hospital opened just four years ago, but Methodist's strategy from the beginning has been to support Ellis County's fast-growing population. Methodist Richardson Medical Center Foundation's Call for Compassion Gala raised more than $350,000 to enhance the adult psychiatric services at Methodist Richardson – Campus for Continuing Care.
