Huge news! OG&E is named to the 2024 Top Workplaces list by USA TODAY! We are thrilled to be included and thankful to #BigOrange who made this happen. #WeEnergizeLife
At OG&E, our 2,300+ employees live our values and beliefs every day. They are the heartbeat of OG&E and the true power behind what we do. And they are energized by a commitment to serve our customers. It's why we were named to the Top Workplaces list for 2023 in Oklahoma and why Forbes Magazine named us the #1 best-in-state employer in Oklahoma for 2023. Thank you to every employee - you are the reason for this recognition. YOU Energize Life. #BigOrange
OGE Energy Corp. was recently recognized as Oklahoma's top employer in Forbes' 2023 America's Best Employers By State list. "There are a lot of great Oklahoma companies on the Forbes list, and to be number one shows that our members are what make our company a special place to work. Each of our members embodies our purpose to 'Energize Life' - taking care of our customers and the communities we serve. We are grateful for this national recognition that reflects the efforts of our team," said Scott Briggs, Vice President Human Resources. Our 2,200-person workforce knows customers rely on us for reliable electricity to power their homes and business. Members live and work in the same communities as customers and are dedicated to serving those communities through volunteerism and stewardship as the company financially supports local nonprofits to make communities better places to live, work, and play. America's Best-in-State Employers 2023 were identified based on 2.1 million employer recommendations from employees working for companies with more than 500 employees in the United States. Among the questions asked of survey participants was whether they would recommend their employer to others, and to evaluate their employer based on working conditions, compensation packages, diversity, potential for development and company image. Companies do not pay a fee to participate in Forbes lists.
The Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation hosted a graduation ceremony honoring the five newest graduates of its Bilingual & Diversity Teacher Pipeline Program. Thanks to the Foundation, these former paraprofessionals are graduating from college debt-free and will continue their teaching journeys within OKCPS, increasing the amount of diverse and bilingual educators for metro students and further fortifying local education. Representatives from OKCPS, its Foundation and OG&E along with teachers, mentors, family members of graduates and other members of the community, gathered at the OKCPS Clara Luper Center for Educational Services to celebrate the five graduates and congratulate them on their academic achievements. Sponsored by OG&E, a longtime partner of the Foundation and local education advocate, the ceremony recognized pipeline participants past and present, highlighted the importance of passionate educators and celebrated the incredible achievements of the five recent graduates.
We continue our celebration of Black History Month by celebrating the 2023 leaders of OG&E's Black TOGETHER™ Member Resource Group (MRG) - Rachel Davis, Charissa Gray, Margo M., Shannon Taylor-Flowers, Felisha Fox, Stephanie Coleman, David Williams and Xavier Davis. Alongside their professional jobs, these employees are dedicated to providing a space to learn and grow while serving our community. The mission of the Black TOGETHER™ MRG is to work within OG&E and our communities, striving to foster a sense of belonging and empowerment, while valuing all dimensions of diversity – one that provides equitable opportunities for employees to grow, learn, advance, and thrive. From leading the company in the OKC Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Parade to holding speaker sessions and volunteering across our service area, together, these employees are making a difference. We look forward to seeing what they accomplish this year under this incredible leadership!
Members from Human Resources took part in some holiday volunteering last week, packing items for more than 1,000 babies and toddlers at the Infant Crisis Center. During their two-hour shift, they packed a total of 319 Baby Mobile boxes and more than 740 packs of diapers. "You have the most cheerful and hardworking team! Please let your group know what a huge impact they made by helping us pack diapers and food, the babies and toddlers highly appreciate it", said an Infant Crisis Center representative.
