"Our community was at risk of canceling a beloved festival due to a lack of volunteers, and this wasn’t just any event. It’s a primary fundraiser for our Porta Westfalica Sister City organization, which gives students and adults the opportunity to travel to Porta Westfalica, Germany, while also welcoming guests from there into our community. I spent the day making and serving potato pancakes, and it was truly rewarding. I’m so proud of how our community showed up to support this incredible organization and keep a meaningful tradition alive.
