At Phoenix Children’s, our gastroenterology team has extensive experience performing sedation-free transnasal endoscopy (TNE) procedures using a single-use sterile scope. TNE enables clinicians to accurately examine and biopsy a patient’s upper digestive tract, namely the esophagus and stomach, in an outpatient setting without administering anesthesia. Dr. Shauna Schroeder, co-medical director of our Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease (EGID) Clinic, recently trained other providers on this advanced technology from EvoEndo.
