Our company was founded in 1868 by Civil War Veteran Orlando McLean Scott. He returned home to Ohio after the war and started a buggy repair and dry good store in Marysville, Ohio. O.M. would pursue a variety of businesses related to agricultural goods and services. These businesses helped him plant the seed for the company that would become ScottsMiracle-Gro. We've been growing for 150 years, and our headquarters have never moved from the Ohio town where we got our start. Even today, Scotts customers can still walk into the original store that was opened by O.M. Scott.
