Associate Spotlight: Howard Garrett How long have you worked at Steadfast? I have worked at Steadfast for just over a year. What do you do for the company? I am Community Manager at Heritage Place Apartment Homes in Franklin, TN. What does working for Steadfast mean to you? Working for Steadfast encourages and challenges me daily to be the best that I can be, always ensuring that I am achieving and reaching company values. With Steadfast culture encouraging employee empowerment, I encourage myself to be the example of great leadership. With maintaining a positive attitude and always looking for the "win-win" resolution, I strive to keep a positive work environment that motivates and encourages at every field of human endeavor. Very important question…if you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? It would be chicken. You can fry it, bake it, and grill it. You can never go wrong. 😉 What does your dream day look like? Encouraging and empowering everyone I come in contact with to reach their highest potential.

Last week all of our summer interns and a few of our associates had the opportunity to go to the Orange County Rescue Mission. They took a full tour of the facility and had the great privilege of volunteering as well. Our interns went to the cafeteria and helped serve up some delicious lunches for the residents of the Village of Hope. While lunch was being prepped and served, we had some of our other associates in the warehouse organizing and sorting food donations. It was truly a great day and a wonderful opportunity to show what it means to “Do Good As We Do Well”. Thank you to the OC Rescue Mission for having us!

June 12th our Steadfast corporate associates participated in a day of summertime activities in order to raise money for the Steadfast Employee Assistance Fund. This fund is a charitable account funded by Steadfast employees for Steadfast employees and is used to help any employee experiencing a financial hardship. The day started with a few warm up activities, including a water bucket relay, word scrabble game and the wooden train race! All leading up to the grand regatta race! Teams were given 3 pieces of cardboard, a roll of duct tape and were directed to build a boat that 1 member of their teams could fit in and race. The winning team would take home the coveted prize of funds donated to the Employee Assistance Fund in their name. It was a tight race but 1 team came out on top! In addition to the race winners, we crowned winners for best boat design and best titanic moment. In total $10,000 was contributed to the Employee Assistance Fund on behalf of the winners! We thank all of the employees who participated and truly showed what it means to do good as we do well.

Steadfast Companies was humbled to be honored by Project Access at this year’s Fire & Ice Gala held in September in Laguna Beach, CA. The night proved to be a big success, raising more than $250,000 to benefit the low-income children, families and seniors the organization supports. Steadfast and its associates are proud supporters of Project Access and the work they do in our local communities by providing tools that help families break the cycle of poverty and becoming healthier, more educated and financially stable.
