Purpose Driven, Together. When a severe ice storm in Jackson, TN left Store General Merchandise Team Leader Crystal W. and her family without power for more than 12 days, everyday life quickly became anything but ordinary. Blocked roads, empty propane tanks, spoiled food and a week away from work created challenges that kept growing with each passing day. At this critical point, Crystal learned about Target’s Team Member Giving Fund. The Target Team Member Giving Fund provides immediate financial assistance to eligible team members facing unexpected hardships or disasters. Funded through donations, it receives significant contribution support from our Target team members each year. We recently caught up with Crystal to learn more about her experience and how support from this resource helped her through the storm. Q: How did the Team Member Giving Fund help during that difficult time? Crystal: "I knew we would be okay in the moment, but I also knew my next paycheck was supposed to cover the mortgage and monthly bills. I didn't want to take out a loan if possible. That's when I found out about the Team Member Giving Fund. The help I received made a huge difference." At Target, great people show up for one another. Crystal's story is a reminder of the impact we can make when we support our fellow team members through life's unexpected moments.
Purpose Driven, Together. When Kendra C. joined Target 24 years ago, she was simply looking for the next opportunity after a challenging season of life. What she found was something much bigger. On her first day, Kendra walked five miles to work. Halfway to the store, it started raining. When a leader noticed Kendra was soaked and cold, they immediately bought her a new outfit. This small act of kindness solidified Target’s focus of “people first” for Kendra. Weeks later, another moment provided a lasting impression. Her Store Director recognized her in front of the entire team, introduced her to everyone and thanked her for her hard work. That recognition gave Kendra confidence and helped her thrive. By the end of her first year, Kendra was awarded “Team Member of the Year” for her district. Over the years, technology, processes and big launches have transformed the way work gets done. But one thing has remained constant: the people. “People come and go, but the culture stays the same. Here, it's home for me. Its family.” Kendra shares. After nearly a quarter century with the same store, Kendra is now a Tech Team Member supporting guests find the latest and greatest electronics. For Kendra, what started as a stepping stone became a career built on support, care and growth. Kendra, we are honored to have you working in our stores. How Maria Shriver is helping bring brain health into everyday life. We recently sat down with award-winning journalist and Alzheimer’s advocate, Maria Shriver, to talk about MOSH, the brain-focused nutrition brand she co-founded with her son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and why bringing the brand to Target was always part of the vision. For Maria, MOSH began with a simple but powerful question she heard for years: “What can I eat to help with my brain health?” She and Patrick decided to create a solution themselves by co-founding MOSH. Today, MOSH is helping make brain health more accessible through products designed to be nutritious, convenient and great-tasting, while also supporting Alzheimer’s research through the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement at Cleveland Clinic. That sense of hope, combined with innovation and accessibility, is exactly why we’re excited to welcome MOSH High Protein Bars to Target stores nationwide and on Target.com. It’s another way we’re evolving our wellness assortment to help guests discover products that support their everyday lives. Purpose doesn't end when service does. At Target, belonging comes to life through the people and communities that support one another every day. For Jason F., Engineering and Facilities Senior Operations Manager in Indianapolis, one of the most meaningful parts of his 15-year Target journey has been his involvement with the Military Belonging Community (MBC). "The culture has been the defining force behind my growth," Jason shared. "My journey here has been shaped by development, mentorship, and a level of care that is truly unmatched." As a veteran, Jason understands firsthand the challenges many service members face when transitioning from military life to the civilian workforce. Through the MBC, he found a community of team members who share their experiences, offer support and create opportunities to continue serving others. "The MBC provides a safe, supportive environment filled with people who understand that journey," he said. "The conversations, mentorship, and camaraderie within this community help make that transition easier for so many." Looking ahead, he is optimistic about the future. "The pride, connection, and energy coming out of the MBC are not only sustainable, they're contagious," Jason said. We're grateful for leaders like Jason who help create meaningful connections and make Target a place where team members can grow, belong and make an impact together.
