๐ February is the month of love. As part of our desire to do some good and give back, this February weโre proud to support the Random Acts of Love campaign, organized by one of our benefits partners. As part of the campaign, when our employees choose to share an act of kindness on LinkedIn using hashtag#MyActOfLove, each post helps generate a $10 donation to Resolve to Save Lives, a nonprofit focused on saving lives through proven strategies that reduce heart disease and improve preparedness for health threats globally.โค๏ธ Weโre inspired by the thoughtful ways our team members are showing careโinside and outside of workโand grateful to be part of an effort that turns everyday compassion into real impact. ๐ Scalability is what TiDB does bestโand itโs never static. When we hit the limits of the traditional shared-nothing architecture, we knew incremental changes wouldn't cut it. We needed a "GPU moment" for the database. In this deep-dive, our Co-Founder & CTO, Ed Huang, shares the full story behind TiDB Xโthe new cloud-native core engine for TiDB Cloud. Learn how we returned to first principles to build a database ready for the next decade of AI-driven workloads, featuring: ๐น True Compute-Storage Separation (S3 backbone) ๐น Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) ๐น Virtual Clusters for high-density multi-tenancy ๐น The architectural roadmap for 10PB+ scale Read the full story of the origins, the missteps, and the future of hashtag#TiDB X. ๐ https://lnkd.in/gx865TT9 hashtag#TiDBX hashtag#CloudNative hashtag#DistributedSQL hashtag#DatabaseArchitecture hashtag#AI hashtag#Scalability

What do you do when your 25TB database hits the "ceiling"? ๐ Bling faced a classic scaling nightmare with their mission-critical MySQL/MariaDB environment: ๐ The Stats: 25TB of data, 15 replicas, and 2-5 billion rows per table. ๐ฅ The Pressure: Peak loads hitting 350,000 QPS. Rather than sink months into high-risk sharding rewrites, the team chose a different path: migrating to TiDB. The results of the journey: โก TiDB Lightning Import: 25TB moved in ~12 hours (compressed to 16TB logical). โฑ๏ธ Precision Cutover: Switched writes in a planned 5-hour window. ๐๏ธ Massive Scale: 50 TiKV nodes & 15 TiDB instances handling 50,000+ concurrent connections at peak. Scaling doesn't have to mean manual sharding. Check out Blingโs full story and lessons learned here: https://lnkd.in/gkDszNJU

๐ค The primary users of databases are no longer humans. They are AI agents. This shift redefines what โscaleโ really means. It is no longer just about data volume. It is about supporting millions of concurrent agents, managing auto-generated schemas, and executing machine-written SQL in production. In this article, SVP of Product & Engineering Siddon Tang explains how TiDB evolved to meet these demands years ago while solving extreme scale challenges at companies like Atlassian and Databricks. Explore the three new dimensions of scalability and why distributed SQL fits the AI agent era: https://ow.ly/zWSg50XXqNS hashtag#TiDB hashtag#AgenticAI hashtag#DistributedSQL hashtag#Scalability hashtag#AIInfrastructure hashtag#Databases

๐ 2026 wonโt be about AI assistants โ itโll be about AI agents writing code, spinning up databases, and shipping products at machine speed. Our latest blog from PingCAP CTO Ed Huang breaks down the database trends reshaping how autonomous agents interact with data โ from hyper-elastic scalability to AI-first infrastructure. ๐ Learn why databases must evolve beyond storage to become active substrates for AI-driven systems. ๐ Read now: https://ow.ly/IpRW50XSBHR hashtag#AgenticAI hashtag#Databases hashtag#AIInfrastructure hashtag#TiDB

Great conversation on The Ravit Show with Ravit Jain and our CTO Ed Huang on how hashtag#AI is changing database architecture. As applications and agents move across transactions, analytics, and vector search in real time, managing multiple databases no longer works. This is why weโre betting on unification with hashtag#TiDB X and where hashtag#data platforms are headed next.

Big thanks to everyone who joined our Amsterdam meetup this week with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Bolt. ๐ Packed room, great engagement, and plenty of chats over beers and food โ exactly the kind of energy that makes this community fun to build with. Hereโs what we dug into: ๐น AWS on Kiro with Jukka Forsgren A closer look at Kiro, the AI IDE using prototype-based development to help teams ship production-ready applications with AI at the core. ๐น TiDB with Daniรซl van Eeden How TiDBโs distributed SQL foundation and built-in AI capabilities support large-scale, production workloads without slowing teams down. ๐น Bolt with Leandro Morgado Real-world insights on how Bolt runs TiDB without worrying about scale, HA, or ops overhead plus lots of practical lessons from their setup. Appreciate everyone who showed up, shared, learned, and helped make the night a solid one for the Amsterdam data infrastructure community. ๐ป

Scaling MySQL shouldnโt mean piling on operational overhead. ๐คฏ This month, we're hosting a TiDB Use Case Lab (with Benjamin Sherrill) where weโll walk through how teams scale out MySQL with fewer bottlenecks, less ops toil, and a cleaner path to growth. If youโre hitting limits with sharding, replicas, or constant fire drills, this session breaks down a practical alternative that keeps performance high and complexity low. ๐ Grab your spot now!
