What does it mean to push boundaries at TikTok? This means that at TikTok we set ambitious goals for ourselves and we always strive to achieve more than we’re certain we can. and we’re not afraid to fail. However, by constantly challenging ourselves to aim higher, even if we don’t reach 100% of goal, we can still be proud of what we’ve achieved. As they say, “shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars."

"TikTok adds up to what might well be the only truly pleasant social network in existence." Recently, Kevin Roose, a columnist from The New York Times Magazine, wrote about his experience on TikTok. Kevin Roose is a columnist for Business Day and a writer-at-large for The New York Times Magazine. He was named to Forbes's “30 Under 30” list. He wrote: “About an hour after downloading TikTok, the popular video-sharing app, I experienced a bizarre sensation, one I haven’t felt in a long time while on the internet. The knot in my chest loosened, my head felt injected with helium, and the corners of my mouth crept upward into a smile. Was this … happiness?” He admitted that he goes on social networks for a living, but now it’s full of spammers and scammers, among others. "There are no ads. There’s no news, unless you count learning about viral dance crazes. There are few preening Instagram models hawking weight-loss tea, and a distinct lack of crazy uncles posting Infowars clips... it’s that rarest of internet creatures: a place where people can let down their guards, act silly wit

Curious to learn more about our User Experience Design team here at TikTok? We caught up with Lu Wang and our User Experience Design team to learn more about the work that they do, the difference between 2D, 3D, and AR, and finally what they look for when recruiting new team members. Lu says: "When looking for designers to join the team, a few things stick out in the most successful candidates. First, it’s important to have a strong portfolio and personal design website. We test our candidates to ensure that they have good logic, are self-driven, and enjoy pushing boundaries. They must have a passion and an interest in creating filters, as we believe this leads our artists to create the best designs. Finally, as a team of designers, we are also all very imaginative. We look for this in all of our candidates." Read more here! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQOtE

TikTok launched its #everyartist campaign at 5 UK universities last week. Students from UCL, UAL, Queen Mary, Goldsmiths, and Surrey University had fun learning about TikTok, playing with offline face filters, and eating doughnuts. :) The in-app “#Everyartist Needs an Audience” competition was designed to offer creative students and existing TikTok users an opportunity to demonstrate their artistic talent.
