Congratulations to Natasha Merjuste, Clinical Intake Manager, who recently won VNS Health’s Joan Marren Award – an annual recognition to promote evidenced-based practice and quality improvement. Natasha joined VSN Health in 2008 as a field clinician in Brooklyn and continued to various leadership and administrative roles to focus on the patient. She notes, “In every position I’ve had at VNS Health, I’ve been able to use my experience to focus on quality, customer service, and the best possible patient experience.”

Congratulations to Psychiatric Nurse, John T., for winning VNS Health’s Marilyn Liota Award ! It's awarded annually to help an exemplary VNS Health nurse to realize his or her leadership potential. It provides a monetary scholarship for expenses related to nursing studies and continuing professional development. Born in Ghana, John put himself through nursing school and now works in the Bronx where his driving force is to “fight the stigma around mental illness and help my patients lead better lives.” John adds, “It’s a vulnerable community that needs a lot of help and treatment intervention. If I can help a person with mental illness get better, get a job, and lead a better life, that’s what motivates me.” Well done, and thank you, John!
