2018 Marks VNSNY’s 125th Anniversary! Trusted by New Yorkers for 125 years and counting. 2018 is a very special year for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. It is our quasquicentennial anniversary, marking 125 years of VNSNY’s commitment and contribution to the health and well-being of the New York community and our most vulnerable residents. Over those 125 years, we have provided expert and compassionate care to millions of New Yorkers. It is a history we can all be proud of. During the course of this coming year, we will be recognizing our milestone anniversary with a series of celebratory activities.

VNSNY’s 2017 Employee Giving Campaign a record-setter! Thanks to the generosity of VNSNY staff, the 2017 Strength from Within Employee Giving Campaign was a resounding success, raising $63,791 for VNSNY programs that help our neighbors in need, the largest amount ever. 319 employees made donations to VNSNY last year, which was also a new record, nearly doubling the previous year’s total. Of that group, over a hundred employees were first-time donors—another record. Contributions to VNSNY Hospice, which support special initiatives and programs such as the Goodman Brown Residence and VNSNY’s hospice program for U.S. veterans, topped the list of designated programs, garnering over $14,000 in employee donations. That was followed by nearly $12,000 in General Support gifts—donations to support all of VNSNY’s Charitable Care and Community Benefit programs.

Through their generous financial support, our employees provided these types of care and services for their fellow New Yorkers: • Care for a homebound senior in need • Provide books for low-income children • Provide food, diapers and essential baby supplies for a young mother • Support care from a hospice specialty aide to a terminally ill patient • Supply medication not covered by insurance for an at-risk patient Thank you for your generosity!
