#HLTH2022 may be over, but our team is still thinking about the conversations surrounding the future of health. One thing was clear: the first step towards building meaningful solutions is designing for the needs of the individual with a data-driven approach. Read on for more show takeaways and insights from our leaders:.
A few of us at Verily woke up a little extra early this morning to give back to the Bay Area at a Food Distribution event with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. We had a great time and are looking forward to doing this again! Thank you Sudha Rao MD FCAP FASCP, Poonam Rakhya, Annie Chau, Sunny Desai, Bethlyn "Buffy" Craner Parada, MPH, CPH for making this great! #giveback #volunteering #grateful
On Day 3 at #HLTH2022, Vivian S. Lee, MD, PhD, MBA, President of Verily Health Platforms, joined Greg Meyers of Bristol Myers Squibb, Javier Rodriguez of DaVita Kidney Care, Paul A. King of Stanford Children's Health, and A.G. Breitenstein of Define Ventures to discuss "What's Plaguing Our Health." A big topic of conversation was mental and behavioral health. Today's leaders need to build digital health tools with the intention to drive more access and engagement for all communities. "The data supports this—if you look at mental and behavioral health, a co-diagnosis of depression increases the overall cost of care by 30-50%. If you can talk about things holistically, access to mental and behavioral health services is better for the patient, and it's also better for the economy." - Vivian S. Lee, MD, PhD, MBA
In today’s #HLTH2022 panel, "The Broken Trust Between Public and Health,” Amy Abernethy, President of Verily Clinical Platforms, discussed building trust in digital health solutions by "leveraging the best of user experience and design to not only build understanding and trust, but also make it so that I have the information I need for the moment I need it." It was an insightful chat with Anjalee Khemlani, Leana Wen M.D. M.Sc., and Zeke Emanuel. #DigitalHealth #VerilyAtHLTH

How do we become smarter in our approach to helping people manage chronic conditions, like type 2 diabetes and hypertension, well before their health is at risk? It starts with data. To shift the care paradigm from one-size-fits-all and provide personalized interventions, we need to understand the many factors that influence a person’s health. Read how our Onduo solution aims to do just that.

"The confluence of multiple different types of data and datasets that we have, coupled with the ability to continuously in a stepwise way, inform and optimize care across time. That is now becoming more and more precision medicine and precision health." -Amy Abernethy, President, Clinical Research Platforms, Verily Dr. Abernethy along with co-panelists Andrea Ramirez, Gaurav Singal, MD, and Lloyd Minor, discuss precision medicine in the era of genomics at the 2022 #FutureofHealthData Summit. Today STAT covered how Verily is laying the foundation for a future of real-world evidence generation, enabling #PrecisionHealth. What does it mean to build next generation clinical trials? At Verily, we’re building the tools and infrastructure needed to broaden the types of data used in clinical trials and build quality longitudinal data sets to bring more representative data into decisions made about drugs and medical devices. We’re expanding our capabilities with software like eConsent forms to conduct clinical research, clinical trial management systems for physical trial sites, dataset assembly and management, study recruitment, and sensor-based data collection through hardware like its Study Watch. Each capability builds upon each other, making up an end-to-end clinical research suite. #PrecisionHealth #EvidenceGeneration
