To mark 25 years of doing business in Ireland, Waters announced an expansion of a new Clinical R&D Center at our Wexford facility with Irish government officials and business leaders in attendance. The €6 million investment will fund research and development of new clinical diagnostics products. Waters’ Wexford facility is our primary site for manufacturing and delivery of in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) systems, reagent kits, and software used by thousands of hospitals and laboratories worldwide for applications that include health screening for millions of newborn babies. We are proud to announce the U.S. Green Building Council has designated Waters as the first and only LEED certified chemical manufacturing facility in Massachusetts and among a small number in the U.S. Our new 140,000 square-foot facility is designed to help Waters significantly reduce energy consumption, decrease water use by 20% and cut industrial waste volume by 50% at this location.
