The good thing about paid sick time is that hours can be accumulated from year to year to year. I've collected mine for over 15 years and I no longer need to pay for short term disability coverage because my accumulated sick time will bridge all the way until long term coverage kicks in.
On the down side if employment is terminated either voluntarily or involuntarily this cache of hours has no cash value.

There is no PTO, you get vacation days and sick days. You leave sick days on the book if you depart the company, no buy back.
