Working from home is very easy to do. Most managers also work from home a few times a week

One of the few positives these days with exception that company pays nearly NO costs for employees who work from home... basically limited to phone. No broadband reimbursement.

It depends on management and your position. Some managers insisted you show up in the office despite your 2 hour commute. Others allowed you to forget you were and IBM employee. In our area we had a nice balance. We were never encouraged to work from home, but it was option.
