High deductible insurance plans that are useless; great 401k match though

Everything is great except the health insurance. You get 3 options as a salaried engineer... all high deductible. Plan will pay absolutely nothing until you meet your deductible. Kids get sick? You'll be out several hundred dollars. The middle deductible you can pick for a family is $5100. CO-insurance of 80% will not kick in until you meet the entire deductible. Not to mention the premiums (completely separate from the deductible) are a couple hundred a month.
Time off, meaningful work, dental is ok, vision is ok, flex 9/80, 401k match/contributions are awesome..... health insurance is pathetic. It would be cheaper to go through the healthcare marketplace in the long run, but you won't qualify to purchase a plan there because you have an employer who offers insurance. Lockheed really needs to offer something better. Or at least a decent HSA contribution/match.

The Benefits have gotten worse - specially medical - costs are high - coverage is low - get ready to pay out of pocket

I was a temp so I did not get any benefits through them. I am also a retired veteran so I had my own benefits package. No vacation time only days off for the weekend.

The benefits overhaul for 2018 is a turn for the worse. Now we have High Deductible Health Plans (choice of three levels), all of which have higher deductibles and higher premiums than our previous options. We no longer get unlimited sick time or personal business time off. Used to be unlimited so long as you don't abuse it. Now we have 40 hrs a year of PTO (combined sick time/personal business). The personal business requires manager approval.

I think the best thing for me is that i am on a team that allows work from home and flexible schedules although that is not consistent across LM. The 9/80 schedule is also really great to have. I think on the negative side, you can get pigeonholed and development/promotion opportunities are hard to find, leaders seem to get all of the development and entry level folks, thus creating an unhealthy environment.

High Deductible Health Plans are awful and most good doctors do not accept the insurance. Vacation time is great. Accrue 10 hours every month plus 40 hours granted at the beginning of every year.
