"They are very understanding when it comes to asking for a sick day or an emergency comes up. There are many other student workers that can fill the spot so it's easy for them to find a replacement for the shift."

The worst thing about the benefits is the ever-rising cost of the pension. They now have multiple pension tiers. New employees are in the lowest tier and will never get the pension that people in the second or third tier get (but still have to pay the same amount).

Health insurance is good and monthly premium is paid almost entirely by UC. Since postdocs are social security exempt, the university has a mandatory 8% withholding into a retirement savings account with no match. Investment options are limited.

It's affordable, there is a great retirement package, and you can accrue sick/vacation time pretty quickly, even for a lower-level employee

This is a student employment. The employees (students) have insurances. Since I am not working there as a professional, I cannot comment on the benefit package. But usually an UC, they are pretty good to their employees.

Company offers good benefits package for full time salary employees, but not for student employees or other part time workers
