The interview process is a multi-stage process for hiring new employees. The interview process typically includes the following steps: writing a job description, posting a job, scheduling interviews, conducting preliminary interviews, conducting in-person interviews, following up with candidates and making a hire.

Zoom meetings with the recruiter, current Chief Financial Officer, President, Chief Executive Officer and head of Human Resources. I received an offer which was then rescinded. I was told that I intentionally misrepresented that my CPA was active and was informed that my “lack of character” was incompatible with the company. However per the job description “ Prefered a candidate has a Certified Public Accountant” (I’m not going to criticize the company for their typo-we are all human), so even being a CPA is not a requirement nevermind having an active license. I would not have applied to the job if having an active CPA license was a listed requirement in the job description. Because I do not have an active license and never represented that I did. I am a CPA, like most CPAs who leave public accounting, my license is not active. Extremely shocking to be told by them via email that I lacked character because I did not expressly answer a question they never asked. Moreover that I should have the telepathic capabilities that would allow me to know that “Prefered a candidate has a Certified Public Accountant” really meant that an active CPA license is required for the position and any offer will be rescinded if you don’t have one. I encountered various other potential legal issues in this process. I must profess this is by far the most shocking, unprofessional and flat out unethical process I have ever encountered.
