After connecting w/ a recruiter, I was set up to talk to the hiring manager. Absolutely bizarre interview experience w/ the hiring manager. They seemed a bit disorganized, and I couldn't tell if they were taking notes about the interview or answering Slacks.
Fifteen minutes into the robotic, rapport-less interview, I was told that I would be moving forward in the process while simultaneously being admonished for not knowing enough about the ActiveCampaign product. Thanks...?
Questions were asked with no real back-and-forth. This is a forgivable offense - I get it, interviewing can be annoying and time-consuming - but maybe don't act quite so displeased w/ the whole process.
The worst was at the end where I asked about immediate priorities for the role and was told after a sigh, "Well, honestly, it's kind of a mess right now." Cool....that's a no from me, dawg. After that, the hiring manager read marketing leadership's vision verbatim to me from a deck.
After a couple of weeks, the recruiter reached out to say that they wouldn't be moving forward with me.
