I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (London, England) in Jul 2022
Interview
Had 2 interviews for 2 different roles within the last couple of weeks - neither was a positive experience. First interview I apparently should have had a recruiter call prior to the interview - didn't happen. The interviewer looked me up and down and obviously didn't like what she saw (I was dressed smartly even though the interview was online - she wasn't).
Asked me lots of questions about my global experience as a senior manager (even though my cv shows I havent worked for a global company for the last 7 years and when I did it was in junior roles). not sure anyone had looked at my CV. Interviewer seemed disinterested and felt very robotic. Wasn't surprised not to be progressed further.
Was surprised to be asked to interview for a different role a week later - this time they scheduled an interview then scheduled a recruiter call a couple of days before. No warning that the recruiter call is a pre-interview assessment. I'd understood it was more of a chat to tell me what to expect at interview. This recruiter was nicer but was difficult to understand.
Asked me to go through my career history and only asked one other question about how did i influence someone senior who didn't want to follow my suggestions. She then told me about what to expect from the interview with some suggestions about using metrics in my answers and that Amazon never give feedback on interviews (which is in itself poor).
This morning I got an email saying the application wasn't being progressed and that the scheduled interview had been booked by mistake. The email itself was really badly written with spelling and grammatical errors - so if that is the quality of employee Amazon are looking for I feel like I had a lucky escape.
Whole experience felt shambolic and left a nasty taste to be honest.

Lengthy with multiple rounds and competency based behaviour questions. Make sure you research the key values to answer in line with that. Follows a smart technique so also practise this.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to change deadlines.
Tell me about a time when you were in a difficult situation and how you handled it.
There was an automated simulation where I had 60min to complete set tasks. Followed by telephone interview with the hiring manager. Another stage was writing a document to answer the question that I was able to choose from the list of potential questions. Finally the loop that lasted 5 hours all together.

Tell me about the time when you disagreed with someone at work and how have you deal with it.
Long process. You get a couple initial phone screens. Then you're set up for 1/2 day of interviews. I had 3 or 4 over half a day. Make sure you take advantage of the resources they provide.
