American Airlines interview questions

Takes a while but worth it! Here is my story and I hope it helps all of you guys because going on Glassdoor definitely helped me! Step 1: Applied online Dec 1 and got instructed to do a personality test right away. That wasn't too hard, just answer honestly. Step 2: Invite for the video interview came next, on Dec 20. You have 5 days to complete it. I will list my video questions below for your reference. You have time to practice, set up your camera, and you can go through the practice questions as many times as you like before starting. Once you do start, you'll get asked a question, have 30 seconds to think about it, and then 3 minutes of it recording you. There are just 5 questions to answer and it did not take me that long. So just practice as many questions as you can find here on Glassdoor and you'll be good. Also, dress like a flight attendant. Red lipstick, scarf, professional blazer, hair pulled back. Other than that, be yourself and let your personality show! Step 3: The face to face! I was starting to lose hope but then I got the call Jan 18. Be checking all voicemails if you screen calls (they will leave a message), inboxes, and even spam folders. Mine was a phone call and got set up for Jan 30. They fly you out so don't worry about having to pay and I was able to get in and out in the same day.The interview was from 1-5pm at their headquarters in Dallas. I met some people along the way that were going for the same thing and it was really nice. Again, try to look like a flight attendant. A business skirt suit looks best for ladies, 2in heels, hair pulled back, red lipstick, and a scarf if possible. Guys, just a suit and tie. There was about 50 ppl in my group. Everyone sat at tables of about 5-8 people and we played an ice breaker game called Who's Who. This is easy, don't stress. But while you're working as a group on the Who's Who exercise, recruiters are walking around the room observing you. Just be yourself! Next is the group interview. About 5-8 people get randomly picked to be together to go into another room. Two recruiters ask 3 questions and everyone gets a chance to answer. The first question, they pick someone to be in the "hot seat" and go first, then work their way down the line. But for the last 2 questions, you can volunteer. The first question was just telling us about yourself (career experience) and why you want to be a flight attendant. The second one is a bit random but I recognized it from Glassdoor. It was "how did you deal with a difficult customer", use the STAR method. The third question everyone gets a random one to answer. Same thing though, all questions you'd find on Glassdoor so do your research and be ready. Lastly, everyone meets back in the original conference room to watch a powerpoint on the benefits, salary, lifestyle, and training. Then there is Q&A. While Q&A is going on, recruiters are coming in and calling people's names. They tell you that you're being called to go over your resume info which is half true but you can tell if you're getting the job or not and I will explain what I mean. What I read is that if your name gets called, it's a good thing. But the thing is, everyone's name is going to get called. What matters is which direction down the hall they take you. When you get called and are directed into another conference room for a one on one, that's a good sign. If you get called and the recruiter takes you towards the lobby and just asks if they have your email and phone number correct, that's probably going to be a TBNT. I was directed into a one on one and we chatted for about 10 more mins before getting offered a CJO. Then I was sent to the room for a reach test, fingerprints, and drug test. I can't guarantee but if you get a one on one, you are probably going to be offered a CJO. And I was!! I interviewed Jan 30 and they said I probably won't start training until Apr. Ok guys, I hope this helped!! You are going to meet a lot of awesome people so make friends and don't be too stressed. The recruiters are all very nice and make you feel comfortable. Good luck and be yourself!! One last tip!! In the one on one during your f2f, they'll ask if you have any tattoos. Be honest! They will find out eventually anyways. I have three on my right arm that I told him about and I still got hired. You can use make up or clothes, whatever it takes to make sure they're always covered :-)
