I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Apollo.io (Warsaw, Masovia) in Feb 2024
Interview
I interviewed in Feb-March 2024
The process took 1.5 months.
I was reached out by a recruiter. They proposed to solve the prescreening task in an online platform. There were 2 coding problems (easy and medium) + simple plain questions about your experience. 1 hour to solve and submit.
Then I was invited to the Virtual Onsite Round 1 which consisted of 2 interviews in a row: System Design and Behavioral. Nothing special, design a feature of some system considering high availability and large data volumes (make sure you clarify these requirements in advance). On behavioral interview it's recommended to prepare detailed stories since the interviewer most likely will ask for them.
A week later, I got positive feedback after Round 1 and was invited to the Virtual Onsite Round 2 which consisted of 2 interviews again: Coding Problem and Deep Dive. The coding problem was about how you solve real practical problems, it wasn't leetcode problem. Deep Dive was about your most recent project where you made an impact. Choose a project that greatly shows your technical and non-technical skills.
After that, I was contacted by Senior Recruiter and provided with positive feedback. They told me my level was preliminarily assessed as mid-end L5 (Senior I) but they are still debriefing my results.
A week later, I got an email that my candidacy was rejected since my answers in the behavioral interview lacked depth and details, and for the Senior level they are looking for more detailed answers. This was surprising because for this reason they could reject me right after the 1st round and save time.
Overall, interesting interview process.
