I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AppZen (Chandler, AZ) in Oct 2018
Interview
I got an email asking me for a phone interview, with a link to schedule the interview online.
I scheduled my interview. 5 minutes into my interview I was told that the position that I applied for was filled and that they wanted to speak with me anyway because I had applied for a few different positions. That is a lie. They were interviewing me for call center customer service, which I had not and would not have applied for. So they filled their quota on the position I applied for and then just assumed I would settle for something less.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The first thing they asked was whether or not I had the legal right to work in the U.S. and whether or not I do now or will need sponsorship to work in the U.S.
I was also asked what I knew about AppZen and what they do. I was asked where I heard about the position and why I applied for it.
We appreciate your review and are sorry to hear there was some confusion! We were considering you for both roles, as we had you in our ATS as having applied for both our Junior Data Analyst and our Customer Support Representative. Unfortunately for the time being the Junior Data Analyst role is closed but still wanted to consider you for the Customer Support Representative position.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at AppZen (Pune) in Oct 2021
Interview
I got a call from the HR, and after talking with them for a bit, they shared the company profile and job description with me. They also told me they have a requirement for a foreign language that I have expertise in. After I decided to give the interview, they told me there will be three rounds and scheduled the interview. The three rounds went smoothly and the questions weren't exactly challenging.
After each round the HR called me up to say that the panel had given positive feedback about me.
My last online interview round was with the Head of the Data Analyst team who didn't even bother to switch on their camera.
Nevertheless, I was told that I cleared all the rounds and since they liked my profile very much the head of the Pune office would like to meet in person in their office. They told me this at the last moment on the same day they wanted to hold the meeting. When I asked them if they can reschedule for next week they said the head is a busy person and might not be in office then. I had to cancel some of my prior appointments to go for this. The meeting went smoothly and the head was a humble and friendly person.
After that, I had another short meeting with the head of the data analyst team who showed me around the office. The workplace seemed nice.
After 45 mins to an hour later, the HR head told me that they'll contact me for HR round and asked me when could I join. To which I said I need two weeks since I'm was still exploring opportunities. At this point, I believed that they would give me an offer but I never got a call from them. So when I decided to ask them for an update they told me that they have had a development and might internally fill the position. But the HR still told me that they'd find out and let me know within 2 days. I never got a call from them.
I wish they had figured this out before calling me urgently to their office for no apparent reason. The recruitment process seemed rather unprofessional.
