I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AppZen (Phoenix, AZ) in Aug 2025
Interview
The interview process at AppZen felt very unstructured and unprofessional. I was told I’d be completing a mock call (and had even prepared an assignment for it), but instead the conversation veered off-topic into personal discussions about festivals and raves once they found out about my hobbies. One of the managers even mentioned doing drugs, which was highly inappropriate. Despite being told I had the job on the spot, I later received a rejection email with no clear explanation. Overall, the process left me confused and disappointed, as it didn’t reflect a serious or respectful hiring experience
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
“They asked me about things completely unrelated to the role instead of conducting the mock call I was told to prepare for.
The interview process was amazing! When I first met with Tyler, he was incredibly transparent about the position and gave me incredible detail about my big picture and day-to-day. I then met with James, who turned out to be an incredible teacher and leader of my team.
The interview process took about 2 months, where I had 4 total interviews, a prospecting/outreach project, and a pitch.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AppZen in Jun 2022
Interview
I had 4 interviews total. Initial screener with a recruiter, followed by an interview with a sales manager, their manager, and the SVP of sales. Process took a little bit longer than it normally would have due to some of management being on leave. Yet everyone was extremely accommodating, with said management even virtually meeting with me during their time off.
There was also a high degree of professionalism from everyone I spoke to, without feeling too "corporate". It felt like they were genuinely trying to get to know me and see if I would be a good fit, rather than just running through a set of standardized questions and procedures. The recruiter followed up with me by phone after every single interview to see how things went.
Overall it was an extremely smooth and transparent interview process.
