Interview
Interview process was a complete mess. First, I was given a denial email, followed by an email to set up an interview. 3 sets of interviews, one of them was mis-scheduled and no one showed up. Not a smooth process whatsoever.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Aurora Innovation (New York, NY) in Aug 2021
Interview
Was first asked to do a writing assignment based on five prompts via email. Once that was completed and accepted, a recruiter called me to have a 30 minute conversation. That went well. The next step was a Google Meet video chat with an operations manager. That's as far as I made it. I'm unsure of how the interview went wrong. I was asked your standard interview questions. "Tell me about yourself", "how would others describe your work ethics" and similar. I was also asked a series of technical questions about air brakes (a subject I am very knowledgeable in).

Question 1
At a high level, how would you explain how air brakes work?
