The interview process and they way Research is being organized in this company: both odd. I met with the in-house recruiter then went on to the second interview with the hiring manager who is a Designer and two product designers. First of all the vibe was NOT friendly (2nd interview). Ok, fine - I could roll with it. Sometimes interviewers unnecessarily feel to need to make the process feel a bit more like old school adversarial interviews. But then the questions just didn't make sense. And I quickly realized it was b/c they were coming from Design. And there were no f/up questions to my research-specific responses. When I got a chance to ask questions, I asked, "Have you ever had a Researcher report to you in the past?" I was told, "Yes, I have once before. I really wanted to hire *HER* but she wasn't available." Wow. Be careful. It felt off here to me.
