Following initial email exchanges, the recruitment process involved a 45-minute phone interview with a recruiter, proceeded by a PI Behavioral Assessment that included optional personal inquiries including age, (isn't this unlawful?) additional demographics followed by behavioral questions. However, after this stage, the communication took a disappointing turn. Despite previous direct correspondence with the recruiter, I received a generic rejection email from a "no-reply" address within three days, which felt impersonal. The email simply stated that I wasn't a good fit without providing any specific feedback. Feeling disconcerted by the abrupt closure, especially considering I was approached by the company (twice!), I reached out for further insights. Unsurprisingly, my request for additional feedback has gone unanswered, leaving me with a less than favorable experience and perspective of the company's hiring practices. Hopefully, the new People Insights Manager can transform Aya's hiring experience so unsuccessful candidates don't feel like they've narrowly escaped, but rather that joining Aya remains an attractive option for them.
