I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Backbase (Atlanta, GA) in Apr 2016
Interview
Fairly standard set of interviews in the process. One short "Getting to know you" interview by phone. Then a technical assignment and review of the results. Later, a "Technical" interview by phone. Finally an in-person "Culture Fit / Role Fit" interview in Atlanta.
The technical challenge was a nice twist. For this position they assigned a small program to write. They provided clear instructions and an API to use. The assignment was appropriate for the position and fun to do.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Backbase (Amsterdam) in Jul 2016
Interview
I was contacted by an internal recruiter. First round was a talk with two people from different areas to define what role I would fit. After that, I received an assignment, as soon as I sent the assignment I was called to another interview related to my assignment and some consultancy oriented questions.

Question 1
I was asked about my profile, technically the only question I answered were regarding my assignment. Also I was challenged with some real life consultancy scenarios.
