In preparation they email you to prepare by choosing two items that you use (ideally available in-store) so that you can sell it to the interviewer on the day. The actual interviewing part which came first was quite robotic. All competency questions with no eye contact, and silent scribing by the interviewer. (I didn't think I'd get it due to lack of connectivity.)
Then you're taken down to the shop floor and told to retrieve one of the two items and try and sell it to the interviewer. Then I was taken to a brand counter and told to try and sell a promotional commissioned product to a customer.
Lastly, you may be told to point out some important things to consider for visual merchandising like improvements and such. Then to do some basic cleaning, sorting and fixing like clearing aisles, pulling products forward, making sure they face the correct way etc.
Although the process was a bit lifeless I actually enjoyed my time there. I think I was lucky with the employees I got to work with.
