I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Boots (Wandsworth, England) in Jul 2016
Interview
Applied online on 11.7.16 and got a response on the same day asking me to choose the date and time I wanted to meet for an interview. On the 19.7.16 I had an interview with the assistant manager who asked me the usual questions such as 'Why do you want to work for Boots?' and also asked for my availability. Make sure you know what you are talking about as they may ask you to expand on your answer more thoroughly. Took me to the shop floor to arrange the travel products aisle then had a role play where I had to recommend to him different products. Thought it didn't go as well as it could have as I was nervous but got a call the next day.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you showed empathy towards another person?
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
