I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Boots in Jul 2016
Interview
I was taken to the staff communal room to wait for the manager to come and interview me. I waited for about 15 minutes when a lovely assistant manager informed me that she would be taking my interview. She asked me when I would be able to work, and how many hours etc and then we got into the "describe a time..." questions. I highly recommend that you prepare for these. She seemed to be really interested in me throughout the interview.
Once those questions were over, she showed me around the whole back of the store, the stockrooms, pharmacy areas, managers offices.
We then went down to the shop floor, where I was to do some exercises. It was the classic "how would you change this aisle" type of question, and I was also asked to approach a few customers and also ask them to join the advantage card. Then I had to pitch my product - you must absolutely prepare for this!!

Why do you want to work for Boots, and this position in particular?
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
