Interview
I applied online about 3 weeks ago, passed the online assessment and applied to the boots store in tooting. I received and email saying that I didn't make it through to the next stage but they were really impressed with my application. Now, at this point I was really annoyed as I had been applying for jobs since April and I just wasn't getting anywhere with it. So, then I didn't want to give up, I applied to 4 other stores (Oxford street, Bond street, Baker street, Kensington). Again, I received 3 emails saying that I hadn't been successful and another email saying that I've been placed on the reserve list. I just had no hope after this, didn't think I was going to get a job. A few days later whilst I was checking my email, I received a Congratulatory email from boots. I honestly thought it was just a regular email about offers etc. Although I eventually opened it and it was an email saying that I had been invited to the next stage. I think one advise i'll give to anyone applying and keep failing, just don't ever lose hope and do not give up!!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I had done so much research online about the boots interview and all the different types of questions that will come up. One question that constantly came up was 'why do you want to work for boots?' I made sure that I was prepared for this one and it was the first question he asked me! Just keep smiling, be friendly, and the interview was not formal at all. All the staff were really kind, made me feel so welcomed! He then went on to ask me 'give me a time when' questions. These were all very easy questions. I was then asked to go down to the shop floor and walk around asking if customers needed any help. This was to check how we approached customers.
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
