I arrived quite early to the interview, and was also the last interviewee so we got started straight away. I was interviewed by the Assistant Manager of the store, who is extremely polite and an easy person to banter with. They asked me: Why do I want to work for boots? - I made sure to mention how prestigious the company is and how it supports local communities, and has a focus on the environment. I would also recommend mentioning the awards that they have received. When has there been a time when you had to open up about yourself to help a customer? - I referred to previous work experience How would you help someone shop for someone that is not them/ shop for a present? How would I arrange an aisle? - make it tidy etc, arrange by price and brand name How would I promote my favourite product? (I wasn't asked previously during the application process, but had one in mind so spoke on the spot) What are the three best things you would tell a customer about your favourite product if asked? (depends on your product) How do you know the difference between a confident and unconfident customer? - unconfident would look unsure, pacing aisles and picking up many products, confident would head straight for one aisle How would you approach and help an unconfident customer? - ask if they need help them offer your assistance, ask what kind of product they are looking for e.g. skin type, allergies How do you think a customer should feel when shopping at Boots? Satisfied How would you make a customer feel satisfied when shopping at Boots? - always smiling, not too overbearing I was also asked some questions about my education history. When they ask, "do you have any questions?", always reply with something.
