I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Boots (Cheltenham, England) in Sep 2016
Interview
Filled in the online application then received an email asking me to complete the online interview questionnaire. I was then told I had passed that stage and got invited to a No7 showcase interview, which was not your usual sit down ask questions interview.
I was told the showcase would last two hours but it actually lasted three. It was me and another interviewee, which was a bit odd. We were taken to a meeting room where we did the usual introductions and were shown five products which we were to incorporate into a mini makeover on customers that we had to 'fish' for. We spent the majority of the time on the shop floor engaging customers and trying to get them over to the No7 counter. We were asked some questions individually but the interviewer and we had to then pick a product and try to sell it to him.
After that we went back up to the meeting room and were told what the next step was and were able to ask any questions we had.
It was a positive experience in that I enjoyed the interview process, even if it was different to anything I had ever experienced before. I didn't receive a call back in the timeframe mentioned so I am assuming I haven't got through to the callback interview. I will be phoning for feedback though as we were encouraged to do this.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Boots (Reading, England) in Mar 2018
Interview
Shambles. Disorganised. Attended a Recruitment event, had a 1 to 1 told positions available. Told to apply online by no7 area manager and given contact details. The job I was told to apply for as a vacancy in the room doesn’t exist! Waited a few days to see if it would appear as the Recruitment process can’t continue without an online assessment, nothing materialised. Used the contact details supplied still awaiting at least a courteous I will look into that response. Emailed boots directly...no response....seems a pattern emerging!. So after taking time off work and paying petrol and car parking charges I’m left with no communication and out of pocket. If this is how they treat prospective candidates in form of courtesy and communication I can only imagine how it is working for them. Not a good first impression of boots at all.
