I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boots (Greenhithe, England) in Sep 2016
Interview
Overall the process was easy and simple, I used this site to help prepare. I applied online where i had to do 2 test, first one was about problems you could face in store and what you would most likely to do and least likely. After that there was a personality test where I had to choose between two options.
I passed both online test and was offered a time and date to go to an interview. I arrived at the interview 30 mins before and spend 15 mins just getting to know the layout of the store. I told a lady at the till I was here for my interview and she told me I have to go and sign in near the perfume section, After that I was taken in the back where I met the manger and she asked a few quick questions and we went onto the shop floor.
She wanted to see how I interact with the customers and engage with them. I went up to customers and said " Hello, is there anything I can help you with today?" Most customers didn't need any help so I just kept going until someone did. I also made sure I mentioned the advantage card to customer.
I was asked on the shop floor how I would tidy an aisle.
The branch I applied to is an extremely busy branch so I wasn't asked anything about the product I had researched about. My interview was on Friday and I found out I got the job on Monday evening.
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
