I applied online. I interviewed at Boots (Dublin, Dublin)
Interview
I showed up early and made sure I looked around the shop and knew where everything was. Since I was early I waited in the staff room for 15 minutes which meant I got to talk to the staff and ask for advice. The interview process was really nice. I had used this website to prepare so I knew what the process entailed. She asked why I wanted to work for boots so I made sure I discussed its prestige and how it was the best heath and beauty retailer in the world as well as its involvement in the community. I also discussed the how I loved the advantage card as well. I was asked more questions about previous experience and "name a time when" style questions which were all straightforward. We then went out onto the floor where I was asked about nonconfident customers and then asked to tidy an aisle. Lastly I had to sell the manager and assistant manager an item (I spoke about a botanics product since its a boots own brand). After that we went upstairs and I was offered the job!
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
