I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Boots (London, England) in Oct 2016
Interview
After successfully completing the online assessments I was invited for an interview by email. The email said I should prepare an item to sell, however from reading other interview accounts I knew there was a chance I wouldn't be taken on the shop floor to demonstrate this. Nonetheless I did prepare for it. On the day I arrived 10 minutes early (I approached the security guard who took me to a member of staff who then took me to wait in a staff room). Everyone seemed very friendly at this point and I spoke to a staff member who was on their break and she was really nice and encouraging. I then met my interviewer who took me to small back room and ran through the basic questions about right to work and took a copy of my passport. She asked me a few of the standard interview questions I had prepared (found on glassdoor) and a few I hadn't expected as they were not listed anywhere in my research. Altogether she probably asked me close to 10 questions and asked about the "sell a product" and just got me to tell her about it. She was a very lovely lady and told me that she liked me but didn't want me on delivery hours but said she would try to get me better shifts and that she'd call me in a few days. Interview lasted around 20/25minutes. She left me a msg the day after (Saturday) and then on the Monday I had a different manager call me and offer me xmas temp which I accepted.
Interview questions [8]
Question 1
How would you tell the difference between a confident and unconfident customer?
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
