I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boots (London, England) in Jan 2017
Interview
I arrived to my interview around 15 minutes early as it is always good to be early. I was met by the assistant manager, we shook hands and he then proceeded to photocopy my passport and national insurance number. He then asked me some general questions which I had listed below. After this he asked some situational questions, for example “Tell me about a situation where you had to empathise with someone” or “Tell me about when you had to recover from a negative experience”. I cannot remember these word for word, hence why I have not listed them below. Then there was a practical assessment where I was given 5 minutes to tidy an aisle, the assistant manager then came back and asked me what I had done to improve it. Finally, I had to pitch a product to him. I chose the Soap & Glory Hand Maid antibacterial, this is a product I use and love so I recommend you pick a product you know well. On the initial Boots interview email, they stated the process should take an hour but my interview only lasted 40 minutes, so there is nothing to be worried about! Always smile as first impressions count; you could be meeting your future work colleagues.
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
