First I completed an online assessment, which took around twenty to thirty minutes. The next day I had an e-mail telling me that I'd passed the assement and to book an interview. I took the final interview slot as I had not had an interview before and wanted the maximum time to prepare! On the day of the interview I was ten minutes early, though after five minutes the interviewer came and took my passport to photocopy. They returned and took me to a separate room for the interview itself, and was generally very welcoming which made me feel a lot more comfortable. I filled out a form with basic information, like name, addresses and availability. Then the interview began. It lasted around ten minutes, and I was asked a few situational questions, if I had any previous experience (which I didn't, but they informed me that was totally okay), etc. Throughout she wrote down what I was saying on a sheet of questions. After this, I was given two laminated cards. Each card had two sets of questions (one on each side). One was about the displays, the other was a situation with questions on how you'd handle it. I was sent out onto the shop floor by myself to complete these questions, giving me a chance to wander around and see the displays I was answering questions about. Once completed, I returned with the questions to the interview room. Whilst out there I was also given the chance to help out a lady who was unsure of how the deals worked, and that meant I was able to demonstrate how I handled actual situations. The interviewer asked if I had any questions, I only had one since they'd answered my previous questions just before asking, and then told me I'd be contacted by the start of the following week, and expected to start that week too. Overall it was a good experience, very relaxed and not too stressful. And that's coming from a person with social anxiety problems! I've not yet had a response as I only did the interview today.
