      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Boots (Portlaoise) in Oct 2017

      Interview

process took just over a week. Applied online , immediatly asked to do an assesment, assesment conssted of sitiuational and personality questions. two days later was emailed and asked to come in for an interview i was told the interview would last 1 hour, and i had to pick a product that would be available in store I chose my day and time slot. I interviewed at boots portlaoise. the interview only lasted 25 minutes max. first we went out the back and was asked about availabilty and if i had any previous retail experience. then i was only asked three more questions, they were tough to answer though. Then we went out onto the shop floor she brought me to an aisle and asked me a few more situational questions e.g what would you do if a customer came in looking for a cost effective suncream, what would you do if a customer wanted to sample a fragrance before they buy it. after this she asked me what my chosen product was, i had to pick a customer and tell them about my product. I was lucky because i chose hair dye and there was a teenage girl who was actually planning on dying her hair soon so we had a great chat. After that we went back into the back room and I was asked if i would be willing to work in any other stores i listed the stores i was willing to travel to and that was it, she told me it would take a couple of days to hear back. the following day i got a call from a different store where i said i would be willing to work and they told me the store i applied for was full but offered me a 20 hour contract in their store, I am meeting with the assistant manager tomorrow to discuss it !
