I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boots (Winchester, England) in Feb 2018
Interview
There was an online test with situational multichoice questions, followed by an interview in-store. The assistant manager checked my right to work doc, asked me some questions from a sheet (mostly "tell me about a time when you ..." kind of questions. She kept apologizing about the way the questions were phrased but explained she had to work from the sheet. Then there were exercises on the shop floor. I had to talk about a product I had chosen beforehand, which was on the shelves, "sell" it to her over another product that she picked off the same shelf, approach a customer and try to sell her some new hand-cream on which they were running a promotion, and choose an area of the store and explain what I would do to improve it and why (move stock from a lower shelf to an empty promotional display, for example). Then back to her office for questions about my availability and flexibility. The whole interview took just over an hour. I am still waiting to hear if I've got an offer.

Question 1
If you saw a customer picking products off a shelf and putting them back, how would you approach them?
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
