Interview
Interviewed at Boots Leeds (Kirkstall)
The interview was with the manager and I was firstly asked what times I could work etc.
I was asked many questions about my past life experiences in almost essay like questions which was a nightmare if I'm honest. I'd spent quite a few hours going through other peoples reviews on here and seeing what they'd be asked in a bid to prepare, but I wasn't asked a single one of the questions other people had been given to my frustration.
The manager read them straight off a booklet which had about 5/6 pages of questions such as 'Tell me about a time you considered different viewpoints and ways to do things before completing a task? Very confusing. Then 'Tell me about a time you had to open up to someone to then benefit somebody else?'
They were mostly all tell me about a time questions and almost all seemed irrelevant to the Customer Assistant job that I'd applied for.
After the questions I was taken to the shop floor where I had to point out things wrong with displays and isles which wasn't too bad.
The manager was interrupted by other staff members 3-4 times during my interview and sometimes mid way through my answers which I thought was quite unprofessional because the manager then forgot what I was saying.
I was called the next day saying I wasn't successful but then offered a Temporary Christmas Job but heard nothing for about 3 months.
The phones at Boots Kirkstall don't work at all so I couldn't ring, there was nobody to email so I actually had to go into the store to ask about the Christmas job I'd been offered to then be told it wasn't available anymore.
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.

Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
