I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boots in Apr 2021
Interview
Applied online and it was a multiple choice application where you choose answers based on scenarios and then do a personality quiz. Didn’t ask me for my CV once.
I got an email a few days later stating that I had been shortlisted for interview but all their slots were filled so they would contact me again if a position opened up.
I then got another email a week later letting me book my interview.
Had my interview over the phone, I really struggled with some of the questions and thought I'd done badly however they told me to come into the store a couple of days later to see if the job would suit me.
I went in and it was basically a trial shift, I was there for a couple of hours though I think they’d originally planned for one. I was shown around the store, introduced to the team and shown what I’d be doing. They let me have a go at doing some of the picking etc. I was happy to do everything, really enthusiastic to show I was interested.
Just standard interview questions to check competency. Felt like a normal conversation nothing too invasive. Just things like that when was one time you delivered excellent customer service or how to do so.

Question 1
Give one time you offered excellent customer service
Not bad, as long as you’re confident, they were very welcoming. It was a bit lengthy but I enjoyed it and come out feeling postive, it’s overall just to see if you’d be a good fit
Quick and easy. Standard retail interview. Was asked to talk about one of their products, to talk about myself. Was asked about my availability too. Good luck if you’re applying!
