So I had my interview today for a Customer Assistant job and I arrived around 11.50 for a 12 o'clock interview. I asked one of the advisors where I should go and wait for the manager. After a few minutes the floor manager came and greeted me and said we'd have to go upstairs for a chat before we did the assessment on the shop floor. When we were sat down upstairs she asked me a few questions;
1) Tell me about yourself?
2) Why Boots?
3) What hours are you available and what's the minimum amount you'd like to work?
Then we went onto the shop floor where she said we'd do a little 'assessment' this consisted of her pretending to be a confused customer looking for anti frizz spray and I had to help her (I didn't have to actually find the right products but pretend I knew)
Next we went over to my preferred product and I had to sell it to her and I chose a hand cream as I found there's a lot to talk about for them! She really liked how I described it and seemed impressed. Next I was handed over to another employee and I spent 20 minutes on the shop floor putting stock out and seeing how I generally fitted in. After 20 mins we went back upstairs and had a chat, she asked if I had any questions and told me about pay. She said I should hear by Monday but not to worry if it's a bit later.
All in all it was a good interview, I was really nervous but they were all very nice and made me feel at ease! Just got to hope I get it now :-)
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
