I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boots
Interview
Applied online and got an email response immediately asking me to fill in their online assessment, after completing the online assessment I had an email 5 days later inviting me to book a slot for my interview.
I arrived 15 minutes early for my interview and was warmly welcomed by the pharmacy staff and had a quick chat whilst waiting. The assistant manager greeted me within 10 minuets of me arriving, they greeted me and I was taken into the back room where they took my details and asked me some role questions such as 'tell me a time where you have been able to help someone due to your approach-fullness' they asked me 5 or so questions and then we moved on to the next section of the interview which was the shop floor assessment.
I showed them my chosen product (Which was Pro:Voke Twice a Week Brightening Shampoo and I found there was a lot to talk about) and tried to sell it to them, she then asked me how I would then sell this product to an elderly customer and a younger customer. After this they told me to stand and wait whilst they picked out a product they didn't think I would be familiar with, they said to take a couple of minuets to read about the product and then try to sell that to them.
Then they asked me to improve a shelf display whilst they wasn't watching and gave me five minutes to do so, I pulled stock forward made sure it was facing the right and checked price tags were correct and with the corresponding products.
Then we moved on to the customer assessment which was incredibly short in my experience as there was only one customer in the shop, I approached her and asked if she needed any help today and if there was anything she was particularly looking for - unfortunately she was looking for a self-tanning product (!!) which I have no experience what so ever! So this I found quite challenging as I know nothing about self tanning products so instead I just tried to be as polite as possible and focused on listening and being interested in the customer and remaining positive about the product she was inquiring about (although I did have to blag!)
After this the interview was over and we just discussed my availability and then they just asked if I had any questions. Told I should hear within the next few days, still waiting so fingers crossed!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Which products do you think customers would rather be left alone with?
Private interview questions - pretty standard just based on experience and given loads of time to answer. Then taken to shop floor to pick a product and how I would recommend/sell it.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What would I do if I seen a customer who was looking around the store quite confused
Easy enough interview, just asked the typical interview questions. Thought i fit the role well but did not receive an offer or any reason for not being selected. Interview took place in a cleaning closet, which i did find strange as it was opposite the staff break room.
The interview was an hour long. Questions were
asked around compentencies. I was then brought out onto the floor to interact with customers and demonstrate product knowledge. Overall, it was pleasent, good interview.
